“We are young, full of energy and enthusiasm, and we are lucky to share the same passion for the land, the vine and the wine. Thus, we build our history together. We aim for the future, each vintage, each cuvée, each idea is a new beginning, to get closer to excellence.”
—Famille Paquet
Situated at the foot of the Solutré and Vergisson cliffs in Davayé, the Paquet Family Estate spans the legendary terroirs of the Saint-Véran appellation: “en Crèches,” “les Cras,” and “les Terres Noires.”
The estate, comprising about 50 plots across nearly 30 hectares, is a rarity in Burgundy, enabling the extraction of each plot’s full potential. The family now practices diverse pruning methods, abstaining from vine topping in select plots, and experimenting with various organic components.
The approach involves reinventing vineyard work annually, amalgamating traditional methods with experiential innovations. The estate’s dedication to quality extends to the conversion to Organic Growing, since 2021, emphasizing soil and biodiversity preservation and each plot is tended to, based on its unique needs, attuned to nature’s rhythms and seasons, they now transition towards biodynamic certification, underscoring a dedication to sustainable viticulture.
As Paul Bocuse used to say, “The most prestigious bottles start to exist when they are emptied with friends”. Conviviality, sharing and generosity are at the very heart of their philosophy, which is a veritable “art of living”.
